Fly Fishing Smith River Missouri | Blackfoot | Smith | Other Waters
Fly Fishing Smith River The Smith River is perhaps the most beautiful in Montana. It’s the only river in the state where a permit is needed to float it. We wade fish in the most beautiful part of the Smith River canyon. The Heaven on Earth Ranch encompasses 5 miles of private access to the river.

Most of the fish are browns, and some are big, while the rest are mostly rainbows with a few cutthroats. We catch a lot of browns over 20 inches each summer.

The ranch also has horseback riding, golf and hiking to keep your mind off of the real world. Gary Anderson, ranch owner, will treat you to the best steaks in the world; wash them down with his Deep Creek Special drink. It takes dedication to push away from the dinner table for the evening fishing. You can sleep in the cabins on the river.
