The Blackfoot
River is featured in Robert Redford's "The River Runs Through It".
It's a beautiful river that also fishes well. You have the chance to catch rainbow,
brown, bull and cutthroat trout on one 15-mile float trip. This part of the river that I
float is not only the most scenic the river has to offer but is also the best fishing.
The river has salmon fly and golden stone hatches as well as significant mayfly and
caddis hatches. Much of the fishing on this river is with attractor dry flies.
After a day of fishing we often stop at Trixi's for dinner. While it's not
gourmet dining, the ex-house of ill repute does have a colorful western character.
